The aim of the ACLS-EP Programme is to further develop the student's knowledge and skills in the management of both the peri-arrest and the cardiac arrest patient gained on the basic ACLS course.
It also introduces students to the many areas of resuscitation that may require a different approach than that of a 'basic' ACLS provider. For example: Electrolyte Abnormalities, Toxidromes, Cardiovascular Emergencies such as: STEMI, NSTEMI/High Risk Unstable Angina, Cardiogenic Shock and RVMI. Special Resuscitation situations such as: Life-Threatening Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Hypothermia, Submersion, Trauma, Electrocution and Pregnancy.
Outcome: ACLS-EP certification from the Irish Heart Foundation (IHF) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
