Emergency First Response Training 

Course Aim:  This course is aimed at effectively managing a wide range of traumatic injuries and medical emergencies. There is an emphasis on stabilising the casualty until the arrival of the ambulance and assisting the crew upon their arrival. Students become familiar with the safe operation of ambulance equipment to treat and stabilise injuries.

Course Structure: This course is run over 40 hours and can be run on a full-time or part-time basis.

  • Relevant Anatomy & Physiology
  • Patient Assessment
  • Airway Maintenance
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Management of Cardiac Patients
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Trauma including bleeding, shock, soft tissue injuries and fractures.
  • Patient Care Reporting
  • Medication Administration
  • Emergency Childbirth
